Welcome to this demo lesson where I'm going to step you through the process of creating an AWS account. In mid-2025, AWS introduced a new concept where there are free plan AWS accounts and paid plan accounts.

• Free plan accounts provide access to an AWS account and some credits valid for 6 months.
• You are not billed for AWS services during the free plan usage.
• Certain services are included for free within the monthly limit of the free plan.
• Upgrade to a paid plan at any time if you wish to use more complex services.

To create a free plan account:

1. Start on the main AWS website.
2. Click on "Create Account".
3. Enter a new email address and account name.
4. Verify the email address by entering the code sent.
5. Create a strong account root user password.
6. Choose the type of plan (free or paid).
7. Enter personal details and agree to the terms of the AWS customer agreement.
8. Provide valid payment details (no billing occurs for the free plan until upgrade).
9. Confirm identity via text message.
10. Complete any additional steps based on account history and AWS requirements.
11. Select an AWS support plan if prompted, or complete the sign-up.
